DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGY 2024-2026

The Department of Biology seeks to train future scientists, health professionals, and educators, providing them with a strong scientific foundation, well-developed critical thinking and communication skills, and a focus on service.

Program Learning Outcomes

Department of Biology graduates will:

  1. Have a solid foundation in scientific knowledge and the skills required to observe nature, form hypotheses, design experiments, and analyze and evaluate data.
  2. Be able to communicate effectively about science, in both written and oral formats.
  3. Have developed a thoughtful perspective about the intersections of science, faith, ethics, social responsibility, and origins.

Students must complete 96 credits as follows: (Students desiring to become secondary science teachers will also need to complete the Teaching Diploma in the Faculty of Education.)
