DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (BSAD) 2024-2026
The Department of Business Administration offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in business and
information systems. Our graduates will possess competencies in business knowledge, communication, critical
thinking, entrepreneurship, teamwork, and ethical and biblical practices. Thus, they will be prepared for service in
a multicultural and global environment.
The department offers the following degree programs:
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
- Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BS)
- Master of Business Administration (MBA)
In addition, the department offers the following specialty certificate program:
- Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship
Bachelor of Business Administration
BBA students build applicable skills through a variety of internship opportunities, and start-up competitions that
enable them to find positions in public and private, not-for-profit, and government organizations. They hold jobs
in sales, accounting, finance, advertising and promotion, management, and consulting, among others.
Successful BBA graduates will possess competencies validated by the following Program Learning Outcomes:
- Foundational knowledge of business disciplines: Graduates will demonstrate a foundational under
standing of key business principles unique to the primary areas of their disciplines.

Communication skills: Graduates will demonstrate oral and written communication skills pertaining to
their disciplines.
- Critical thinking and entrepreneurship skills: Graduates will demonstrate critical thinking skills to
define business problems and apply innovative entrepreneurship skills to solve them.
- Teamwork: Graduates will be able to display interpersonal skills as well as abilities to work well in diverse teams. Consequently, they will recognize the relevance of multicultural issues in business
practices.

Ethical practices: Graduates will follow ethical norms in assessing business situations, embody integrity
in decision-making and apply values-based leadership.
- Biblical practices: Graduates will utilize biblical principles to significant business challenges as faithful
stewards of God's resources.
Students who apply to the BBA program coming from a Technical School need to take three remedial or bridging courses. These courses must be taken during the first year of BBA coursework. The courses are:

The BBA degree provides students with a solid background in core business subjects and concentrations in
specific disciplines such as: Accounting, Finance and Banking, Information Systems, International Business, Management,
and Marketing. Students must complete 97 credits comprising General Education, Core Business, and
Major courses in a special field selected by the student.

Bachelor of Science in Information Systems
The BS degree in Information Systems equips students with the ability to integrate information systems into the
business environment. The program is intended to train students in conceptualizing, designing, implementing,
maintaining and managing information technology resources in specific and applied environments.
Successful BS graduates will possess competencies validated by the following Program Learning Outcomes:
- Foundational knowledge of information technologies: Graduates will demonstrate a foundational
understanding of key knowledge and principles of the information technologies.

Communication skills: Graduates will demonstrate oral and written communication skills pertaining to
information systems.

engineering models.

challenges.
The program recognizes that technology has now penetrated the realm of business, education, government and
other organizations, and is designed to produce students who recognize this impact and the potential of technology
in the society of the future. Students must complete 97 credits comprising General Education, Core, Major, and Cognate courses.

Master of Business Administration
The MBA degree program is designed to provide advanced business education to students who have achieved
the required academic competence and are aiming to further their academic knowledge and advance their professional
skills.
The program emphasizes the preparation of students for leadership roles that require clear and critical thinking,
sound judgment, effective communication, integrity in all actions, and recognition of opportunities for service.Success in today's business world requires a thorough understanding of global business developments. Through
the use of case studies, students are given the opportunity to put their theoretical study into practice.
Successful MBA graduates will possess competencies validated by the following Program Learning Outcomes:
- Advanced knowledge of business disciplines: Graduates will demonstrate an advanced understanding
of key business principles unique to the primary areas of their disciplines.
- Communication skills: Graduates will demonstrate professional oral and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and managerial skills: Graduates will demonstrate critical thinking skills to analyze
business problems and apply innovative managerial skills to solve them.
- Teamwork: Graduates will be able to display interpersonal skills as well as abilities to lead diverse
teams. Consequently, they will recognize the relevance of multicultural issues in business practices.
- Ethical practices: Graduates will follow ethical norms in assessing business situations, embody integrity
in decision-making and apply values-based leadership.
- Biblical practices: Graduates will utilize biblical principles to significant business challenges as faithful
managers of God's resources.
Students who apply to the MBA program must have relevant undergraduate coursework in business. However,
provision is made for students without adequate undergraduate business background to complete 9 credits of
foundation courses that are not part of the MBA program. These courses must be taken before or during the first
year of MBA coursework. The courses are:

The MBA degree requires all students to take 24 credits of core courses, 9 credits of concentration courses, and 6 credits in the culminating phase. The concentration courses can be in the
fields of Finance, Management, Marketing, or a combination of them for a general MBA. In the
culminating phase, the student can either complete a thesis in the chosen field or take two
elective courses. Students who do not complete the thesis will have a recognized professional
degree, but may limit their options for doctoral studies
